Germinate Civet Coffeewhich is comparable to full-bodied Java Arabica Coffee but with even more body and with a strong and sharp flavor, offers a smooth coffee with a muted acidity yet with an intensity in its flavors and a rare complexity that makes it one of the world’s finest coffees.  We only offer the most specialised and premium types of coffees in the world of Civet Coffee.

Civet Coffee (or Kopi Luwak) refers to the seeds of coffee berries once they have been eaten and defecated by Asian palm civets.  Civet Coffee bean is produced mainly on the island of Sumatra in Indonesia.  The civet eats the best and ripest coffee berries for the beans' fleshy pulp, then in the digestive tract fermentation occurs.  It digests the fruit and expels the beans, which our farmers collect, wash, and process into a real delicacy. Civet Coffee beans improve through two mechanisms, selection and digestion by the civets.  Selection occurs when civets choose to eat coffee berries containing better beans.  Digestive mechanisms improve the flavor profile of the coffee beans that have been eaten.  After spending about a day and a half in the civet's digestive tract the beans are then defecated in clumps, having kept their shape and still covered with some of the fleshy berry's inner layers.

The best of our Civet Coffee comes from the prime coffee growing region in Sumatra, Indonesia.  Sumatra is the world's largest regional producer of Civet Coffee.  Small-holders grow Arabica coffee in the highland regions of Gayo, Lintong and Sidikilang.  These coffees are known for their full-bodied, rich taste and vibrant yet low-toned and gentle acidity, and long aftertaste.  Some of the world’s finest premium gourmet coffees are grown in Sumatra.

Sumatra is arguably one of the best-known, specialty coffees growing regions in the world. The finest Sumatra is rich, full and complex with low acidity.  Germinate Civet Coffee is grown in north central region of the island of Sumatra near Lake Toba in the Sidikilang, Lake Toba area.  It has a distinctive flavor and is highly sought if you are looking for a unique coffee experience.

Germinate Civet Coffee is distinguished by its full body and with a low acidity and renowned for providing a rich, satisfying flavor.  Now the Civet Arabica coffee from Sidikalang is the most wanted one by coffee lovers. In Sumatra the harvest runs from November to January.
